The fellowship of believers:
“They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching, and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer”.... Acts 2:42.
Many have wisely and correctly stated that this verse in particular and the verses that follow in Chapter 2 of Acts are really the purpose of the church in a nut shell. These words reflect who we are and what it is we do as a result of who we are in Christ. Fellowship is the living out the 'one anothers' of scripture. It includes, encouraging, loving, challenging, exhorting, supporting, and teaching one another. For this reason Riverside Community Baptist Church has many opportunities to experience teaching, encouragement, fellowship, and the breaking of bread both on Sunday and during the week. We celebrate communion on the first Sunday of each month.
Sunday mornings begins at 10:00 a.m. when we gather for Bible Learning Time. Bible Learning Time offers a time to study God's word for adults, teens, children from Senior Kindergarten to grade 5, and Nursery. Our worship service starts at 11:00 a.m. We are located at the Village on Argyle; 780 Argyle Street Peterborough.
Older, Wiser, Loving, Serving
Riverside has an active Seniors group for those age 55+. Meeting approximately once every six weeks for a social event, they are a very loving, and welcoming group of folks who love the Lord, love being together, and enjoy their food! Please see the Events page for upcoming OWLS events.
Vertical Youth Ministries (Grade 6 to Grade 12)
Our youth ministry reaches out to both Jr. and Sr High students. Friday nights, our youth join with the youth from Edmison Heights Bible Chapel for a time of fun, food, and fellowship as well as an opportunity to be challenged and encouraged in their faith. Always check the calendar for when and where!!!
On Sunday mornings during Bible Leaning Time, classes for both Jr. and Senior High are offered at 10:00. For more information on our youth ministries, please click on the youth page here!
Small Group Ministries
We have a number of small groups that meet throughout the week, and there is always room for more to join. The purpose of our groups is three fold; develop and nurture a strong sense and experience of community with others; grow in our faith; while serving and caring for those outside of our group that are in need.
