Jesus is Good
(Song)
Oh, the goodness, the goodness of JesusSatisfied, He is all that you needMay it be, come what may, that you rest all your daysIn the goodness of Jesus
Jesus is Good (all the time)
When we say, “Jesus is good,” we are not merely stating a moral fact. We are declaring a total truth that echoes through eternity, before time began, Jesus who existed was good; when Jesus created this world and when He came to earth Jesus was good and in Heaven now and for eternity to come, Jesus is good.
-His goodness was not just in His actions and His words on earth but in His very eternal being. Jesus is good because God is good and Jesus, Emmanuel -God with us, made God visible to us. Good Jesus, good God came to us and John wrote “we beheld His glory” -we saw His goodness”.
In Acts 10:38 we read; ‘Jesus went around doing good…’ people saw this
And we can see His goodness now:
-The Goodness of Jesus is seen in His Heart for we read in Matthew 11:29 He was ‘gentle and humble in heart, who gave rest for our souls.”
-Goodness begins with the heart, and the heart of Jesus was good.
He was never driven by pride, never consumed by selfish ambition. His heart overflowed with love for people—broken, wandering, and lost, you.
-The Goodness of Jesus is seen in His Compassion -when others recoiled at the touch of sinners, even a leper, Jesus drew near. When others condemned, He forgave. When others passed by, He stopped and did good.
The goodness of Jesus could be felt in His tenderness toward the woman caught in adultery, whom others wanted to stone. It was heard in His voice when He told her, “Neither do I condemn you; go, and sin no more.” It was seen in His patience with His disciples, who failed Him time and again but whom He never gave up on.
The goodness of Jesus was not a performance—it was His nature. He was good because He is goodness itself. Jesus has been good to you.
-The Goodness of Jesus is seen in His Teachings
The words of Jesus were not just wise—they were good. Not good like ‘Out of this world’ chocolate ice cream from Baskin & Robins is good. But good in essence, in being as every command He gave was life-giving good, every truth He spoke was filled with goodness & grace.
He taught us to love our enemies, to forgive seventy times seven, to serve rather than to be served. Who could teach such things except One whose heart was utterly good?
*When He said, “Do not worry,” He wasn’t dismissing human anxiety—He was inviting us to trust in the Father’s care.*When He said, “The greatest among you shall be your servant,” He was redefining greatness by the goodness of humility.
Jesus is a good teacher; a word teacher of goodness and Jesus wants to teach you. That is soooooo good. You are a good student I’m sure so enjoy the teacher’s good words to you.
-The Goodness of Jesus is seen in dealings with people.
If you want to see true goodness, watch how Jesus treated sinners. He was called “a friend of tax collectors and sinners,” and it wasn’t an insult—it was a revelation of His heart.
-He dined with Zacchaeus, the corrupt tax collector, and brought salvation to his house.-He allowed a sinful woman to weep at His feet, to wash them with her tears, and He said, “Your sins are forgiven; go in peace.”
This is the goodness of Jesus—it meets people where they are but never leaves them there. His goodness is not permissive, but transformative. He doesn’t condone sin, but He rescues the sinner from its chains.
-Jesus meets you where you are and wants to transform you -Jesus paid your debt, that’s good!
Jesus has set you free, that’s gooder!
Jesus wants to give you abundant & eternal life with Him,
that’s goodest!!
His goodness was healing goodness. His mercy was medicine for the soul.He saw sin not as something to despise from afar, but as a sickness to be cured by His closeness and by His love and by His blood.
-The Goodness of Jesus in His Sacrifice
The ultimate proof of Jesus’ goodness is the cross. There, goodness triumphed over evil—not by force, but by love.
He who knew no sin became sin for us.
He who healed others was wounded for our transgressions. The cross reveals what perfect goodness looks like when faced with perfect evil—it does not retaliate, it redeems. When the nails pierced His hands, He prayed, “Father, forgive them.”When the mockers jeered, He stayed silent in love. When the thief beside Him cried out, “Remember me,” He promised paradise.
Goodness does not die—it gives life. Remember it was Good Friday.
And from that cross flowed goodness that has never ceased: forgiveness for the guilty, peace for the troubled, and hope for the lost.
Oh, the goodness of Jesus – to you and me
May it be, come what may, that you rest all your daysIn the goodness of Jesus
He was good even when goodness cost Him everything, but it bought you & me.Jesus is good.
The Good Shepherd went around doing good,
The Good Shepherd laid down His life for His sheep (us) and is now the good King, the high King of heaven.
I could labour on trying to illustrate the goodness of Jesus, but I want to land on 3 statements of Jesus which He spoke to His disciples, to His followers which includes you and me.
-Imagine Jesus holding your chin, getting your full attention, and looking you straight in the eye and saying this:
I have loved you
I will never leave you
I will never forsake you.
Today, right now rediscover the Goodness of Jesus in this simple truth, Jesus loves you, don’t look around at others being loved but reboot your heart to know Jesus loves me -this I know -for my Jesus told me so.
‘you can rest all your days, come what may, in this: Jesus loves me.
You can’t earn His love-you just have it
You can’t fall out of His love-you will always have it
You can’t shake it off or leave it out-you have His love
You are loved by Jesus, Jesus is so good -abide in His love (live in it)
Today, right now rediscover the Goodness of Jesus in this simple truth,
Jesus is always with you, this good promise, this wonderful surety is Jesus will never leave you; you are never alone, you are accompanied by the One who loves you.
-You can’t run away so far that He isn’t near you
-always close, He’s always near
-you can’t do anything so bad or so wrong that will make Him leave
-always close, He’s always near
-you can run, you can hide, you can sin and you can not abide
-but He is always close, He’s always near
Today, right now rediscover the Goodness of Jesus in this simple truth,
Jesus will never forsake you. If someone is standing beside you but doesn’t help you in trouble, they have forsaken you. Good Jesus says to you -I will NEVER forsake you. Come what may in your life,
whether you have:
troubles, He is an ever-present help (not forsaken) in times of trouble.
whether you have:
worries, cast them on Him, He can handle them -you are not forsaken
whether you have:
fears, the shadows, valleys and night need not be feared as the Great Defender will shelter you under His wing.
whether you have:
problems, Jesus, Son of God is bigger than any and every problem and He will not forsake His own
whether you have:
sufferings, your Saviour is acquainted with your grief, sorrows and sufferings and joins with you to endure -He will not abandon you or forsake you in your hour of need NEVER, EVER LEAVE YOU FORSAKEN
whether you have:
pain, I have experienced pain, I have called out His Name in my pain, I felt His very presence in my pain. He didn’t forsake me then but gave me strength to carry on.
whether you have:
shortages of any kind, short of change, short of time, short of love, short of friends, short of strength, short of hope, short of direction, short of clarity even short of rest
-Jesus, the Ever-with you One, the One who died for you because
He loves you One -yes this One -Good Jesus- He won’t forsake you.
We can become so accustomed to these truths, to the goodness of Jesus, maybe even blase’ or calloused or ‘take them for granted’ leading us to become possibly not very thankful and certainly leading us to become dull/uninspired Christians.
Rest in this, all your days, Jesus really really loves me. that is so good
Be secure in this, Jesus is with me always -really. That is so, so good.
Stand strong in this, Jesus WILL help me -every time. That is so good
The same Jesus who was good on earth is still good today, good to you.
You see, Jesus’ goodness is personal:
When you pray, you are heard by a good Savior.
When you fail, you are lifted by a good Shepherd. When you walk through the valley, you are guided by a good King.
Jesus still calls you, still forgives you, still intercedes for you
Jesus is good to me! (Yea, me personally, Jesus is good to ME) Believe this, accept His goodness (Jesus loves you -so accept this in your heart) and be thankful afresh for every goodness shown you.
Think back over your life;
—the times He protected you when you didn’t even know it,
-the times He forgave you when you fell again,
-the times He comforted you in tears
-the times when He whispered peace into your storm.
-His goodness has followed you all the days of your life, even when you wandered.-He has been patient when you doubted,
-He has been merciful when you sinned,
-and Jesus has been faithful to you when you were faithless.
Every breath you take, every morning you wake, every prayer He hears. —it all speaks of His goodness and this goodness is not temporary.
Do you remember what David wrote?
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.” — Psalm 23:6
Oh, the goodness, the goodness of Jesus
Satisfied, He is all that you needMay it be, come what may, that you rest all your daysIn the goodness of Jesus
