Eli Maleki (Ma^ la key) MY GOD MY KING

YHWH (Ya^ way) The God who is, who exists, who lives and who can be known.

And God can be known by you, personally, intimately and deeply. This experience is a growing thing, we grow in our understanding of God and the more we grow, the more intimate we are and the more thrilled we become. I dare you to experience this thrill by experiencing God more deeply. We can know YHWH by the names God gave Himself and by names given Him by people that are recorded by inspiration in the Bible.

-Please understand that these names apply to YHWH, the triune God, Father, Son and Spirit, each person of the triune God is YHWH.

-David writes of God as El E^met, God of truth and we know that the Father can not lie because He is truth, Jesus announced that He was the truth and the Spirit is the Spirit of truth. These names describe/define God, all God, all persons in God, YHWH.

This morning in our series entitled THE GOD WHO IS we are looking at this name:

Eli Maleki (Ma^ la key) MY GOD MY KING

Matthew 2:1-2

After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem 2 and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”

Magi declare YHWH, son of God KING

Matthew 27:11

Jesus Before Pilate

Meanwhile Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor asked him, “Are you the king of the Jews?” “You have said so,” Jesus replied.

In Governor Pilate’s question –‘are you, Jesus, King of the Jews to which Jesus declared with certainty YES               KING JESUS

3 positions attributed to Christ Jesus -were and are

PROPHET       PRIEST   AND        KING

The Magi and Pilate both refer to Jesus as King,

But Jesus is more than King- HE is YWHW -SON OF GOD -KING^

Not just back then, 2000 years ago, but King now and King forever more

Revelation 17:14

These will wage war against the Lamb (Jesus, 2nd person of YWHW THE TRIUNE GOD), and the Lamb will overcome them because He is Lord of lords and King of kings; and those who are with Him are the called and chosen and faithful.”

There are lots of kings in the Bible.  The word ‘king’ is found 2504 x, in the NT 259x, in the royal gospel, Matthew 74x and in God’s last inspired book in the Bible, Revelation 25x

-but King of Kings, twice that I could find, repeated in Rev. 19:16 there we find Jesus, the matchless sovereign, having the grandest scepter wearing the incomparable and unrivaled crown of Heaven

        He is King of Kings

But, you may be thinking, where did Eli Maleki (Ma^ la key) MY GOD MY KING -come from?

Psalm 68:24 NASB

24 They have seen Your procession, God, The procession of my God, my King, (Eli Maleki) into the sanctuary.

This psalm is connected with the coming of the ark of the covenant into Jerusalem celebrating not only that event, but also the faithfulness of God. Jerusalem is secure enough now to bring the ark into the city.

-David writes of seeing the procession coming closer and closer to Jerusalem and David burst out with MY GOD MY KING (David was a King but God is King of Kings)

- this story takes a twist along the way and David learns to fear the Lord, David eventually yields his crown to God his King, as you must too. You too much must vacate the throne of your life to YHWH, the King. Live like God is and He is King of kings, King of YOU. God is to be your Saviour, yes, but He is to be your Lord, your King as well. YHWH does not compromise on this with anybody, with you -He is to be MY King.

-Like David we need to burst out in praise and adoration with

        my God, my King, (Eli Maleki)

-can you say that, like David you may have some twists along the way, you may learn to fear God and you may learn to yield totally to the King of Kings      -let me read the story to you

2 Samuel 6 NASB

Now David again gathered all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand. 2 And David departed from Baale-judah, with all the people who were with him, to bring up from there the ark of God which is called by the Name, the very name of the Lord of armies who is enthroned above the cherubim. 3 They had mounted the ark of God on a new cart and moved it from the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill; and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, were leading the new cart. 4 So they brought it with the ark of God from the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill; and Ahio was walking ahead of the ark. 5 Meanwhile, David and all the house of Israel were celebrating before the Lord with all kinds of instruments made of juniper wood, and with lyres, harps, tambourines, castanets, and cymbals.

6 But when they came to the threshing floor of Nacon, Uzzah reached out toward the ark of God and took hold of it, because the oxen nearly overturned it. 7 And the anger of the Lord burned against Uzzah, and God struck him down there for his irreverence; and he died there by the ark of God. 8 Then David became angry because of the Lord’s outburst against Uzzah; and that place has been called Perez-uzzah to this day. 9 So David was afraid of the Lord that day; and he said, “How can the ark of the Lord come to me?” 10 And David was unwilling to move the ark of the Lord into the city of David with him; but David took it aside to the house of Obed-edom, the Gittite. 11 The ark of the Lord remained in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite for three months, and the Lord blessed Obed-edom and all his household.

The Ark Is Brought to Jerusalem

12 Now it was reported to King David, saying, “The Lord has blessed the house of Obed-edom and all that belongs to him, on account of the ark of God.” So David went and brought the ark of God up from the house of Obed-edom to the city of David with joy. 13 And so it was, that when those carrying the ark of the Lord marched six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fattened steer. 14 And David was dancing before the Lord with all his strength, and David was wearing a linen ephod. 15 So David and all the house of Israel were bringing up the ark of the Lord with joyful shouting and the sound of the trumpet.

-David wrote of this after a lesson was learned

Psalm 68:24 NASB

24 They have seen Your procession, God, The procession of my God, my King, (Eli Maleki) into the sanctuary.

Now God had told both Moses and Joshua -be strong and courageous and be careful to do all that I have instructed you to do. Moses wrote down those instructions, in the Law, but David failed to follow the instructions given concerning the Ark of the covenant.

It was not to be moved by placing it on a new cart -no -that’s what the Philistines did.

It was to be carried with poles (through the rings on each side)

        David would have known that if he had read the Law

        David should have known that because he should have been reading

Only the Levites could carry the Ark, not anyone else

No one was ever to touch the Ark, death would follow.

-David’s sin, his error is clear for all to see but we may be in a ‘twist along our way’ and our own sin and error may only be known by us.

        David feared and learned as we all need to

YHWH, the God who is, we need to live like God is and be careful to do all that God has told us to do. He is to be MY KING

(illus) Otto Von Hapsburg, the King died and during the traditional ceremony when the procession of mourners and the casket arrives at the gates of the Capuchin Church, under which the Imperial Crypt lies, - the Herald knocks on the door. A Capuchin then asks "who demands entry?" The Herald responds with the names and titles of the deceased.

Otto was first introduced as:

"Otto of Austria; former Crown Prince of Austria-Hungary;

Prince Royal of Hungary and Bohemia, of Dalmatia, Croatia, Slavonia, Galicia, Lodomeria, and Illyria;

Grand Duke of Tuscany and Cracow;

Duke of Lorraine, of Salzburg, Styria, Carinthia, Carniola and Bukowina; Grand Prince of Transylvania,

Margrave of Moravia;

Duke of Silesia, Modena, Parma, Piacenza, Guastalla, Auschwitz and Zator, Teschen, Friuli, Dubrovnik and Zadar;

Princely Count of Hapsburg and Tyrol, of Kyburg, Gorizia and Gradisca; Prince of Trent and Brixen;

Margrave of Upper and Lower Lusatia and Istria;

Count of Hohenems, Feldkirch, Bregenz, Sonnenburg etc.;

Lord of Trieste, Kotor and the Windic March,

Grand Voivod of the Voivodeship of Serbia

The Capuchin then responds "we don't know him."

The same procedure is repeated -who demands entry?

The Herald  may only state a few titles this time.

The Capuchin then responds "we don't know him."

Only on the third attempt, when the Herald responds with "a sinful, mortal human being", are the gates opened and the dead Hapsburg admitted into the Crypt.

He gives up his crown, all his titles and pomp, submitting them to the King of Kings for he was about to face My God My King   Eli Mal^ a key

You can know God, you can know God more deeply and it will be thrilling when you say like David after his, ‘lesson learned, Mal^ a key, MY KING

YHWH, the God who is -KING, Live like God is King -your king
