El Nasa (Na sa^) God who forgives

Psalm 99:8 NKJV

You answered them, O Lord (YHWH) our God (EL); You were to them God-Who-Forgives, (EL NASA) …   Our God is the God-Who-Forgives

 

We all need to be forgiven.

 

Romans 3:23 New King James Version

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

 

Isaiah 53:6 New International Version

6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

 

Isaiah 59:2

But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.

 

Acts 2:38

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.

 

 

Blood needed for forgiveness.

 

Hebrews 9:22 New International Version

22 In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

 

Matthew 26:28

This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

 

Romans 3:25

God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished—

 

 

Blood Applied for forgiveness.

 

Ephesians 1:7 New International Version

7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace.

 

Acts 20:28 (for Pastors and Elders)

Ephesians 2:13

But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

 

Colossians 1:20

and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

 

Hebrews 9:12

He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, thus obtaining eternal redemption.

 

1 Peter 1

18 For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, a lamb without blemish or defect.

 

1 John 1:7

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

 

 

 

We need forgiveness because we have sinned, if we admit before God and ask for forgiveness à God applies the punishment of our sins to Christ whose blood was shed for our sins. Christ’s blood cleanses us before God and we are saved, redeemed, forgiven and we are Christians.
