More about Jesus #16
Jesus the Prophet & He is Coming Again Part 2
How many of you have a cell phone? Have you ever given Jesus a call on your cell phone? Think of it. We call up to heaven in prayer, it’s just like a cell phone, always available, wireless but there’s one big Difference!!
IT’S …Jesus on the mainline, SO… tell Him what you want.
Jesus on the mainline, tell Him what you want.
If you want salvation, tell Him what you want.
The line is never busy. Tell Him what you want.
Jesus on the mainline, tell Him what you want.
So, pick up the phone - helloooooooooo? Who is it? It’s Jesus.
-Yes, it’s prophet Jesus again, and he wants to repeat some things He said when He came to us 2000 years ago:
-I can hear His cry and His pleading and His warning and the love in HIS prophetic voice when I read His words -what He said so long ago: Can you hear His prophetic voice? Do you hear Jesus speaking to you as He spoke so many years back?
*Jesus cries out to all who will hear.
“The kingdom of God has come near. Repent (turn from your sin) and believe the good news”. Mark 1:15
-is there sin in your life, anywhere, Prophet Jesus forthtells the truth by telling you to repent, stop, turn from it -repent, turn and believe in Jesus who died for that very sin.
Is there at habit that needs to stop, a bad attitude that is holding on to you, Is there a relationship that’s inappropriate for a Christian, is there anything between you and the Saviour?
Jesus says to you Repent, turn and believe.
In Mark 7 Jesus tells His disciples 12 things that are sin (not an all-inclusive list), these make a person ‘unclean’ and need repentance.
Jesus said:
21 For it is from within, out of a person’s heart, that evil thoughts come—sexual immorality (any sex outside of marriage), theft (little or big theft is still theft), murder (even thinking it, or calling someone ‘racca’ -useless) , 22 adultery (lusting is defiling), greed (wanting what you don’t have), malice (unkind thoughts actions, words), deceit, lewdness (vulgar thoughts -OMG -Lord’s name), envy, slander, arrogance and folly. 23 All these evils come from inside and defile a person.”
The world says be tolerant, be all inclusive of everything and anything but Jesus the forth teller Prophet of all time says.
-NAY, NAY. -its sin, repent, and turn
Is Jesus talking to you today, right now? Listen, obey NOW.
*Jesus voices a warning, in this next passage, to hypocrites and loudly cries out:
“Woe to you, teachers of the law, you hypocrites!” Matthew 23:13
‘teachers of the law’ 🡪 pastors, elders, teachers, religious leaders to any and all who speak out of both sides of their mouths, any Christian who says one thing and does another -Hypocrite!
-did I ever tell you that some of the things Jesus said are hard to take, makes one uncomfortable, --they rub me the wrong way and I want to defend myself 🡪 but my Jesus says right to my face -hypocrite
It’s a loving firm voice for sure but Jesus has said this me:
-you say one thing and live another way (I blink)
-you say you’re a Christ follower, but I just don’t see it (I blink)
-If you are a Christian you’re supposed to be ‘fully committed”, surrendered to Christ’s kingship in your life (I blink again).
Oh God I’m so sorry, -in repentance I ask for forgiveness and the ‘good News’ is -He does forgive. And He will forgive you too,
-so repent and do so now, today. Will you?
It isn’t about perfection, living a perfect life but being a believer and follower of Jesus Christ it’s about direction.
-in John 8 Jesus tells us that a ‘true’ disciple continues in His word. This is believing what Jesus said, living it and applying it to yourself.
-you have what Jesus said today -will you continue in His word?
It’s about direction -continuing in His word is direction 🡪God
To the rich young ruler, Jesus declares:
“Sell everything you have and give to the poor and come and follow me.” Mark 10:21
To Jesus, half-way Christianity isn’t good enough, lukewarm Christians don’t cut it with Jesus for His name is LORD and He must be Lord of all or He is not at all.
-I can see Jesus speaking loudly at times, out in the hot sun and on the dry land,
-I can Jesus uttering straight-arrow words to the religious leaders, to entertainment seekers, to the wealthy, to the poor, to the blind and to common folk alike.Jesus speaks to everyone, to all, to you and me.
in Luke 13:3 Jesus cries out to the crowds (and to us today),
“Unless you repent, you too will perish.”
From speaking to crowds to speaking to a single person like in John 3:7 To Nicodemus, He said,
“You must be born again.” (repent, turn, believe, follow)
Some of Jesus’s forthtelling prophetic statements are unrelenting and haunting because they require all that we are and have. It requires us to be ‘sold out’ to Jesus. Jesus pronounces to us ‘pick up our cross’.
and ‘deny yourself’ and ‘sell everything’ and ‘live to serve others not to be served’. Jesus said this -2000 years ago and repeats it in His Word to us again now --repent, turn from your sin, surrender all to Him, love God with everything and love others.
The greatest Prophet, Jesus, still speaks today and He speaks to you and me.
Pick up the phone and hear Jesus speak to you. Do you hear Him?
Jesus’s prophetic cry came wrapped in grace. His rebuke was never to destroy, but to restore.
Satan calls you by your past -what you did, all your sins and failures and all your ’bad’ BUT Jesus calls you by your future. What you will become. Jesus is good …. Therefore, keep growing, always grow -there’s always hope when you’re a believer. You may have a rugged mountain before you today, but a lush valley awaits your tomorrow. Because???? Because God is good and with God there is always hope.
He was the prophet who wept as He warned. He calls for sinners like you and me to come home, to come to Him.
Jesus cried over Jerusalem, they wouldn’t come to Him. He said
“If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace.” (Luke 19:42)
He saw beyond rebellion into the pain of a people lost without God.He healed the lepers, touched the blind, embraced the children, and lifted the broken. His prophetic heart was full of mercy.
Jesus was not merely a prophet of words, but of wounds.
He was wounded for us, for you. He cries out to us still, to you still.
His prophetic voice continues today—through the Holy Spirit and through His Word.
We are no longer waiting for another prophet to come with a greater revelation. Jesus is the complete expression of God.
Yes, Christ continues to speak through Scripture. The prophetic ministry of Jesus continues today in us and through us,
Every believer is called to echo the prophetic voice of Christ
and to proclaim the gospel, the Good News that Prophet Jesus brought
we are extensions of Jesus prophetic presence in the world today.
The question that echoes through Scripture is simple but searching:Will we listen to Him? Will we pick up the phone?
--God said through Moses, “You must listen to Him.”--When Jesus was transfigured on the mountain, the voice of the Father thundered, “This is My beloved Son; listen to Him.” (Mark 9:7).
Jesus still speaks today—to our hearts, to our homes, to our church, to our nation. We must listen to Him.
His message cuts through the noise of modern life with the same divine authority: “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
Will we listen? Will we obey? Will we let the Prophet of Nazareth rule in our life right now?
Pick up the phone and hear Jesus speak to you. Do you hear Him?
One thing concerning the Grandest Prophet ever, this forth teller of God’s words, who was God the Son, He was, also, a foreteller of future events. Jesus made several future prophetic announcements that would in every circumstance come true.
The same Prophet who once wept over Jerusalem will one day reign over all the earth. He’s coming back. The One who was despised will be exalted; He’s coming back. the One who was crucified will be crowned. He’s coming back. Jesus is coming again, first for His Church and then He comes in power and glory as King of Kings.
Oh, listen, I hear the phone ringing ….
Pick up the phone, listen to Jesus, read His words, He’s on His way.
-All true believers in Christ are waiting for Jesus Christ to come again. you cannot call yourself a Bible Christian if you do not believe in this one blessed hope, the 2nd coming again of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
-Now we have people with different views of the 2nd coming. They have technical terms: we have premillennial, amillennial, and postmillennial. Some say ‘I don’t understand those terms. Let me tell you folks that you don’t have to understand every detail to be expecting the return of Jesus.
The longer I have been on the trail the more humble I have gotten about this matter of prophecy. And I’ve moved from the program committee, having everything figured out and planned out, to the preparation and welcome committee. The Getting Ready myself and others Committee.
Even come Lord Jesus. There is one hope and that is the 2nd coming of our Lord. And I believe we are getting very close.
Listen to the prophetic words of Christ concerning when He comes for His people, the church.
Matthew 24:
37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 38 For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39 and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.
42 “Therefore, keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. 43 But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. 44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
-this I believe is referring to the ‘rapture’ when Christ’s church, all believers will be taken up to heaven -snatched away, in the twinkling of an eye.
-if you are not a Christ follower, you are the one left behind, all Christians from the past and the present will be caught up together in the air to be with the Lord forever.
Are you ready? Please, I beg you do not suffer being left behind.
Are you watching? Dear Christian, are you watching. Jesus is coming again and He tells us clearly be ready, be watching -He’s gonna come soon. Jesus said it, I believe it -it’s as sure as done.
I’m heaven bound sooner or later, oh what joy we’ll experience when Jesus returns for us, all of us, PLEASE let’s all go together.
Jesus also tells us after we are caught up with Him into heaven, that He will gather us all together in heaven and come back in great power and glory to this earth where everyone will see Him and He will set everything aright here on earth.
Jesus foretold in Luke 21
25 “There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. 26 People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken. 27 At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
Know this with certainty that this Jesus, this Final Prophet, this Son of God is coming back gloriously
For Jesus said:
“… they will see the Son of Man (Jesus Christ) coming in clouds with great power and glory.” (Mark 13:26)
Oh, look -my phone is ringing -it’s Jesus on the line
ME:Yes Lord
JESUS:I’m coming, soon. Question: are u ready, are u watching?
ME:yes Lord, I’m watching -Maranatha -even come Lord Jesus.
Oh, wait, Jesus is on the line and He wants to talk to you! Will u pick up
